  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • Optional: salsa, sour cream, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes for topping

Instructions:

 

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning according to packet instructions. Set aside.
  2. Layer the Casserole: In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, start with a layer of tortillas, overlapping to cover the bottom. Add a layer of seasoned beef, sprinkle with shredded cheese, and top with another layer of tortillas. Repeat until the ingredients are used up, finishing with a top layer of cheese.
  3. Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the casserole for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Serve: Allow the casserole to cool slightly, then cut into squares. Top with sour cream, salsa, lettuce, or diced tomatoes, if desired.
